Spring Great Gatherings to support the Auction

The auction isn't until May, but we have some fun events in the works to support the auction's fundraising goals before the big event. Great Gatherings are small-group events planned and held by parents. Several fun gatherings have been planned to help you and your family stay active and build connections within our school community. So grab a friend, and please consider signing up for one or more of these events to support our school!

Tennis Social at the MAC (March 30) Come and enjoy a fun evening of tennis with other Buker parents at the Manchester Athletic Club. All are welcome to play- no experience necessary!

Spin for Buker (April 8) 45-minute spin class at the North Shore's premier indoor cycling studio, The Inner Cycle, in Beverly. Whether you are a spin enthusiast or new to indoor cycling, this class will provide an energetic and fun experience while supporting our school, using free weights for a full-body workout and featuring state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems.

NERF Party for all ages (May 5) Kids from all grades are invited to participate in a mighty NERF battle, to be held at the home of Amy & James Kraft in Wenham.

Mountain Biking on the Willowdale Trails (May 6) Explore the Willowdale State Forest mountain biking trails with Buker dads Steve Sylvester and Noah Vihinen and their 2nd and 4th grade sons. Open to all children accompanied by a parent or another adult with bikes appropriate for off-roading/trails, helmets and water.

A Night of Wine and Cheese Tasting = SOLD OUT
Here’s how it works: Great Gathering events will be held in the months leading up to the auction and over the summer. Buker parents can sign up and pay to attend event, with 100% of this payment going to Friends of Buker as auction revenue. There are three different types of Great Gatherings:

  • General events for adults or kids with a specific number of slots available, such as the holiday cookie swap and sip party which took place last December. Events currently being planned include firepit gatherings, an outdoor yoga class, and a nature excursion for families at the Ipswich River Wildlife Reserve in Topsfield.
  • Class gatherings where the entire class or grade is invited. Typically hosted by a group of parents to share the load, examples this year will be home and country club pool parties, backyard movie nights, and a SkyZone party.
  • Teacher/staff events: These are extremely popular events that will be available for bidding during the online auction and at the live auction. Some of the events planned are a train trip to the Museum of Science with Mr. O. and Mrs. Petrou, a "puppy poetry party" with Ms. Gambino, Mrs. Bent and Serenity, and a ukulele jam session with Mr. Ferreira, just to to name a few!
