Kids & Company Together for Safety Parent Forum Night

On Monday, October 2nd from 6:30 –7:30 pm, we will hold a parent forum at the Cutler School in the dining hall  to discuss the  district's safety curriculum, Kids and Company: Together For Safety.  This is a comprehensive program taught in grades K-2 that provides children with the skills, information, self-confidence and support necessary to prevent abduction and sexual abuse.  The program takes a positive and constructive approach in helping children respond to various situations and make safe decisions.
Kids and Company has been taught in the district for the past sixteen years.  The forum will provide parents, who are unfamiliar with the program, an overview of the skills that are taught and a chance to view the materials used.

If you have any questions about the program or the forum, please contact Dolly McIlvaine (Cutler), Kathy Hughes (Buker) or Katie Lindsey (Winthrop).

Buker Playground

The Friends of Buker is pleased to announce that the Hamilton -Wenham Regional School Committee has given us permission to start fundraising for a new Buker playground!  Our current playground is over 17 years old and caters more to our younger students.  In addition, some of the structures’ elements are broken.  As the manufacturer no longer makes those parts, replacement is nearly impossible.  We would like to install new play structures that can be used and enjoyed by students of all grade levels.  This will benefit current and future Buker students as well as children in the Hamilton-Wenham community.  Additionally, we would like to be able to dedicate this new playground in memory of our classmate and friend, Jennifer Maio.

We hope to be able to have this new playground ready when school opens in the fall of 2018.  Funding for this capital project will rely heavily upon donations from local businesses and individual Buker families.

How can you help? You can make a general donation or buy a brick.  The bricks will be used in a patio sitting/reflection area next to the new playground.  For your convenience, our tax identification number is 20-3445978.  Thank you!
