Read-a-Thon Results!

The results are in and once again, the Buker Read-a-Thon was a great success!  This year we raised over $1,300 for the new playground!

Ms. Oliveira's class raised the most amount of money, winning the prize of choosing a lunch menu!

Thank you very much to all of our students, their sponsors, and our staff members who were so generous and worked so hard to make sure that we had another successful year!

Calling All Knitters & Crocheters

Calling All Knitters and Crocheters:
It’s a busy time of year, but also a great time to curl up with a knitting project.
Our school nurse Lisa Druskat is collecting hats to send in.  Please send in hats to Lisa Druskat by January 9th.

Volunteers from around the country are joining the American Heart Association, in connection with The Children's Heart Foundation, to celebrate American Heart Month by knitting and crocheting red hats for babies born in February at participating hospitals. Little Hats, Big HeartsTM, honors babies, moms, and heart healthy lives in a very special way. Supporters are knitting and crocheting red hats to be given out to thousands of babies during American Heart Month in order to empower moms to live heart healthy lives and to help their children do the same.
Together, we are working to raise awareness, provide resources and inspire moms to take their family’s heart health to heart while also raising awareness about Congenital Heart Defects.
Yarn Specifics
Red
·       Cotton or acrylic
·       Medium to heavy weight
·       Machine washable and dryable

Sample Patterns
·       KnittedBaby Hat Pattern
·      We recommend simple hat patterns. While we love bows and buttons, they can come off the hats and be dangerous for the little ones.

Friends of Buker Staff Breakfast

Our Buker staff was overwhelmed by the Holiday Breakfast presented by Friends of Buker.  The elegant presentation of food, gifts and table settings was unparalled.  Parent coordinator Sandra Roman and her crew of awesome parents spoiled us with delicious baked goods, savory treats and clever gifts!
What a thankful group we are for our generous parents!
